Intern responsibilities will include but will not be limited to welcoming visitors, provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive gallery experience, answering phone calls, preparing exhibitions, installation and removal of exhibitions, keeping gallery neat and tidy at all times, inventory management, responding to inquiries regarding upcoming exhibits and programs, occasional typing, entering information to our expanding data base, video-taping gallery talks, general office and clerical support, assisting pack and unpack artwork for shipping as well as to assist gallery director in researching artists and artwork along with monitoring market trends in our curatorial process.

Applicants should be familiar working with a range of computer programs, including but not restricted to MS Office, Excel, and Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity and competency with social media a strong plus.

The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with gallery director, associates and exhibiting artists to support a cohesive and comfortable working environment for our visitors.

10-15 hours of employment per week, (interns may be asked to work up 20 max). All tasks will be completed on site at Mad Rose Gallery. This is a part-time position and hourly rate is commensurate with experience.

Applicant should email letter of interest, resume and a letter of recommendation, written by a current professor, in the applicant’s primary area of study. After support material has been reviewed, candidates will interview in person with gallery director and owners. Course credit may also be awarded if approved by candidates’ college or university.
